Account Ownership

Ownership should be obvious. Most of the time it is. This page is for the times it isn't.

Your account

An account belongs to the person whose phone number signs in to it. If you pay for it yourself, it's yours.

Organisation accounts

If an organisation pays for an account on someone's behalf, the organisation decides who has access to it.

Your content

What you create belongs to you. We store it so the product works. That's all.

A shared book still has one owner

On Authr, a book belongs to the person who made it. Editors write it with them, but only the owner decides who reads it, and only the owner can delete it. If the owner deletes their account, the book goes with it, editors or not.

Changing hands

Changed your phone number? On Authr, change it yourself on your account page. For Tethr, or if an account needs to move to someone else, write to hello@svair.org. We'll check it's really you before we change anything.

When people leave

If someone leaves your organisation, remove their access straight away. If you think an account has been used without permission, tell us immediately.

Disputes

We can tell you who an account belongs to. We can't settle disputes between employers, employees, partners or co-founders. That's between you.

One last thing

Software is temporary. Your work shouldn't be.

That's why every export we make opens in something other than our software.
