If you want to leave, you should be able to leave.

No phone calls. No hidden steps. No “before you go” discount.

How to leave

Tell us at hello@svair.org, or just stop paying. Nobody will chase you.

When a Tethr account stops being paid for, it turns read-only. Everything stays where it was: you can still read it, search it and export it. You just can't add anything new.

Authr will work the same way once it has a price. An unpaid account freezes: you can't write in it, but you can still read and download your books, public editions stay readable, and nothing is deleted for not paying.

To remove everything, delete your account yourself: in Tethr's Settings, or on your Authr account page.

Deletion means deletion

When you delete your account, everything in it goes, right away. Patients, notes, attachments, books, pictures. There's no thirty-day grace period, no offer to win you back and no undo.

On Authr, the books you own go for everyone you shared them with, too. A picture you added to someone else's book stays in their book. Copies already in our hosting provider's backups aren't edited; they go when those backups expire.

So if you might want your work later, export it first. It takes a minute.

Taking your work with you

Tethr exports everything as a ZIP of spreadsheet files with your attachments. Authr gives you each book as Markdown, EPUB or a ZIP with its pictures, and Download everything on your account page takes every book you own in one go.

If you need our software to read your own work, we've failed.

Refunds

Leaving stops future payments. If you think you're owed money back, see our Refund Policy.

If we close your account

We may suspend or close accounts that break our Terms of Service.

Whenever we can, we'll explain why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. If we need to act immediately to protect people or the service, we will.

One last thing

The door is right there.

We hope you never use it, but we're not going to stand in front of it.
